Prof. Pradeep Srivastava

Dr. Pradeep Srivastava is Professor of Geology at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, India. His research focuses on Quaternary geology, geomorphology, paleohydrology, paleoenvironmental reconstruction, and human–environment interactions, with particular emphasis on the Himalaya and the Indian subcontinent. He integrates sedimentology, geochronology, geochemistry, paleoecology, and emerging approaches such as sedimentary ancient DNA to reconstruct past climate variability, landscape evolution, extreme flood events, and anthropogenic impacts.

Dr. Srivastava has published more than 120 research articles in leading international journals and has supervised 12 Ph.D. scholars. He is an elected Fellow of the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) and a recipient of the National Geoscience Award and the M. S. Krishnan Gold Medal of the Indian Geophysical Union. Internationally, he serves as Vice President of INQUA and is a member of the International Science Steering Committee of PAGES, contributing to global initiatives on Quaternary science and past global changes.
